1940s Tina Leser Hand-blocked Silk Tie - Rare
item T00051

Tina Leser was a true textile artist whose earliest works are few and far between. Working during the 1930s and into the 1940s in Hawaii, Leser was influenced by Asian and Hawaiian arts and motifs. Her hand-blocked fabrics were works of art in themselves.

Silk tie in a warm spice brown - we'll call it nutmeg - with a paler pink peach and blue in a pattern of grazing horses amongst foliage and scattered stars. Has both retailers attached label and also the distinguished signature chop of the artist. One very slight area of fade right at the nape of the neck section does not detract. Provenance: from the estate of the owner of the wonderful 1940s Levi's jacket we offer.
